This question is best experienced coming from someone else, looking straight into your eyes. Someone safe, yet wiser, willing to hear you out, and you’re willing to get advice from. Or maybe your older, wiser, future self.

“What is it really that you want to be doing right now?”

“Me?”

I want to drive a jeep on a road trip with my family through northern Thailand.

I want to stop freelancing and start living off profitable projects.

I want to earn $30k per month.

I want to live in Kyoto, Japan.

I want to retire my wife.

I want to…

And I catch myself mid-sentence. I realize, everything I want to do, I’m unable to do or achieve. Maybe just for now… but for some, maybe forever.

But it was a beautiful question.
