Was it as easy as it looks?

In the last few scenes of movie The Pursuit of Happyness, the boss offers Chris the job he’s been desperate for, and the boss asked, “Was it as easy as it looks?” Chris replied, tears welling in his eyes, “No sir, no it wasn’t.”

That’s scene.

Was it as easy as it looks?
No.

Everyone who’s ever tried hard chasing a dream knows that. Everyone who’s ever watched someone do that from the sidelines only see how easy it looked.

No one’s coming to save you.
No one’s going to show you.
No one really sees you.

You wished to be seen, but others seeing you doesn’t matter, really.
What truly mattered was that your younger, past self sees you.

“You made it! You said you wanted it and you got it!”

Imagine your naive, innocent, younger self seeing you as you are right now—older, richer, wiser, dreams achieved—and saying that.

Imagine that.
