Veo Or Not

I believe that if you are interested in AI or the AI video industry, you should be seeing all the veo3 videos by Google that are being shared across the internet. All these videos are quite impressive and receiving lots of attention. There are some X accounts that gain tremendous attention simply by sharing the veo3 videos they created.

The only issue is that you need to pay to access Google AI Ultra, and the price is not cheap at $250 per month, although there is a 50% discount for the first three months. Compared to OpenAI ChatGPT Pro, which costs around $200 per month, it may seem rather expensive. However, don’t forget that Google AI Ultra comes bundled with many other apps, including Gemini, Flow for filmmaking, access to veo3, Whisk for images, increased usage for NotebookLM, Project Mariner for research prototypes, YouTube Premium, and additional storage.

It does seem like quite an attractive package, and I’m considering taking advantage of the 50% promotion to give it a try. So far, I haven’t really used any Google-related AI, and I’m contemplating whether I should seize this opportunity to try it.

So, Veo or Not?

Comments

I’ve been using the $20 Google AI Pro and it’s more than enough for me–and I use NotebookLM and Gemini daily. Even at the discounted $125, that’s the same as getting six $20 subscriptions with Google or elsewhere where you get to pick and choose which products to use.

Nathan Barry (the creator of Convertkit, which is now Kit) once developed an iPhone app he was selling for $200 (or $250. I forget). It was targeting a niche segment of parents with autistic children, who would otherwise have to buy a $1,500 device. The price anchor they’re aware of made the app sound like a steal!

I believe this is the same with AI solutions that are replacing otherwise expensive devices, software, and services.

@Winkletter did you pay for Google AI only or you pay for ChatGPT or other too?

@haideralmosawi yeah you got the point

@knight I’m being indecisive. I’m probably going to cut back to one and use OpenRouter to access the others, but I can’t decide which one.

@Winkletter can give https://straico.com/ a try as well, I recently bought some AI app that link to service like that so that you can choose your own model to use in the App
