To come

A couple times I’ve mentioned Medium’s writing app, TK. I signed up for the waiting list a while back. Long enough that I forgot the app existed. This week I finally got access as part of my basic Medium membership. They’re about to launch on Product Hunt and open access to the app generally.
It’s a writing app that can import notes and manage drafts. It has built-in AI that can access much of your data in the app (including Medium stats). You can access the AI in a sidebar or with inline queries that allow you to keep typing. @TK insert an example here. (That would be how to use the inline AI.) It has an interface for daily posts that uses AI to generate a writing prompt. It can also build skills. Overall, it works pretty well as a single place to organize data and drafts. It’s built for writing and getting out of the way of writing.
So far it has pulled a good bit of writing out of me.
Everything starts private, but the app also has some social features. Social, but limited to the people on the platform – writers rather than readers.
You can publish posts to your profile. You can create “libraries” and join other libraries which can be either public or private. And when you post to those libraries, other people with access can read those posts. This means the libraries can also be set up for teams to access with read and/or edit privileges.
I’ve posted a couple entries to an open “Public Journal” library. But I’ve also seen libraries for things like draft critique, photography, recipes, and sports goals.
Of course, you can also export posts to Medium once you’re ready for a draft to go fully public.
The app itself goes fully public Nov. 9th. Let me know if you want an invite before then.
