Tired

I’m tired of being the anchor.
Anchors don’t get to sail,
anchors don’t get to move,
anchors just stay at the bottom
so everyone else doesn’t drift away.
– Iris Rose Poetry
I’m tired of being the sun.
Suns don’t get to switch off,
suns don’t get to float away,
suns just stay in the sky, forever
so everyone else gets light and warmth.
I’m tired of being the rock.
Rocks don’t get to soften,
rocks don’t get a rest day,
rocks just stay solid, strong, unmoving
so everyone else can step on it.
I’m tired of being the roots.
Roots don’t get to hold swings for kids like branches do,
Roots don’t get to bloom as leaves and flowers do,
roots just get buried under the earth,
so everyone else is stable and fed.
I’m tired.
Beautiful. Wishing you rest and energy!
