The Science of Getting Rich

I started my second listen to The Science of Getting Rich, published in 1911 by Wallace D. Wattles. This book keeps coming back to me, and I'm still wrapping my head around its basic principles.
According to Wattles, there is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty.
As a first step toward getting rich, you must believe the three fundamental propositions:
- There is a thinking Stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.
- A thought, in this Substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
- Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.
He further states not to ask why these things are true, nor to speculate as to how they can be true; simply take them on trust. The Science of Getting Rich begins with the absolute acceptance of this faith.
So what do you think? Does it sound like a bunch of hocus pocus, or are you interested in learning more?
