The golden cage or what do you want to get paid for?

Sometimes, we get comfortable in work that we’re good at and that pays well. And then comes a point when we feel a bit bored and dissatisfied. It’s not the right fit anymore.
Like a pullover that became too small.
The question then is: what do you do?
Do you stay, because you’re good at what you do and you get rewarded with a good pay, maybe even a reputation and applause. You tell yourself that’s what you can get paid for. It makes sense.
It’s what I call the golden cage.
Or do you leave, follow your heart, face the unknown and your fears: what if you’re not good at the thing you’d love to do? What if nobody wants to pay you for it? What if, what if?
You’ll never know if you don’t try.
The reward of facing your fears might be new, surprising opportunities opening up, great work, new skills, personal growth, maybe even better pay, and most importantly, excitement and joy.
And you won’t regret it someday for not having tried it.
So would you LOVE to get paid for?
And do you dare to follow your heart?
