The big trip

I’m up bright and early and ready to head to good ol’ Hertz rent-a-car. I wanted to get my writing in now because the day is a complete wildcard. No time to leave it up to chance. Heck, I don’t even know if my phone is going to work in Mexico.

 

According to AT&T, my plan includes service in Mexico without any additional hoops and hurdles. I guess I won’t know until I cross the border. One of my companions is adding Mexico access to her phone plan, so at least we’ll have a backup. In the meantime, I took some screenshots of the route and saved it to my phone in case we lose connectivity. 

 

I’m still processing my feelings about this trip, but I’m doing my best to look forward to it. I noticed there is a Costco in Hermosillo, so maybe it will end up looking a lot like the US, except all the signage will be in Spanish.

 

Speaking of Spanish, mine is a bit rusty. I can understand much more than I can speak it. I’m not fluent, but I remember enough to get by. Fluency in Spanish is one of the items I eventually want to check off.

 

Wish me luck as I make the big trip down south. Oh, and I won’t be drinking any of the water.
