Still the same amount of snow

A phrase I overheard the other day: “If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life but still the same amount of snow.” – James Clear

That quote was about snow, but it’s not talking about snow.

The snow is whatever shit is in your hands right now. Stuff you hate, don’t want, prefer gone. And as long as you draw a breath, there’s always this snow. We can’t escape it as a fish cannot escape water. It’s like the air that pervades us, that we breathe.

Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

So while the pain sucks, the choice to find joy despite, is still possible. The pain stays. It’s still the same amount of pain. But the experience changes.

You could even look back with pride and awe, if you do it right, despite all the pain and shit.

It’s all optional.
It’s all up to you.

Maybe it’s time for me to spin up my alter ego, Jim Muddled, as an AI agent to help me come up with replies when you have a James Clear reference. 😂

@therealbrandonwilson Yes please haha. James Clear sends out a newsletter every week. Maybe have Jim Muddled reply to that every week too - that would be fun to read!
