Slow

Invariably, as an entrepreneur, indie hacker, you will go through one of these seasons.

The slow season.

It’s the opposite of your product going crazy viral.
It’s when nothing much seems to be happening.
It’s when things are going steady… but slow.

Growing, but slowly.
Building, but calmly.
Expanding, but quietly.

It can feel like your SaaS had peaked.
Or worse, that you had peaked.
That your best days are behind you.

Or is it?

I think it’s about what you do during a slow season, that makes or breaks the business. When things are going fast, you’re getting shit tonne of attention, you can’t build fast enough, and everything is pulling you along, it’s easy to know what to do.

But everything you do when things are fast are built on shaky foundations. When things get slow, that’s when it gets confusing. Or deadly. You suddenly don’t know what to do. What to build. What to chase after.

Fast brings validation.
Slow builds depth.
Fast shows PMF.
Slow digs moats.
Fast is for opportunity.
Slow is for leverage.

Fast is nice.
But savour the slow.
