Recalled to life

At the start of October I’d lost my desire to write. To be honest, I’d lost a lot of my drive. Illness and the struggle in general left me feeling like I couldn’t sense a future anymore. I stopped posting my newsletter and daily writing exercises, but thankfully I kept writing here. So, this October was a struggle to rebuild momentum.
- I spent more time outside and offline, working with my hands.
- I built several content menus after a deep dive into restaurants.
- I reworked my newsletter and began drafting posts for Medium again.
I still need to rework my website. I’ve left the daily writing exercise hanging without any official notice of a hiatus. I’m deciding if it should be a permanent shutdown, or if I want to vibe code a backup that loops through a recurring set of exercises.
Thirty days have passed, and I’m feeling better. Everything dies, right? And that includes the dour mood that had previously swallowed my future.
I’m really surprised how much I’ve embraced the content menus I created. I had every expectation they would end up like most of my abandoned projects, but they continue to be helpful at shaping my thoughts. Right now I’m using a recipe from the Lifelog specials menu called The Review. Does it feel unnatural?
So what’s the plan going forward?
- Keep writing using content menus on Lifelog and my newsletter.
- Stop dragging my feet on restructuring my website.
- Start publishing again on Medium and their writing app, TK.
