Pesky back

I'm happy to report that as I approach the big 5-0, I have no major physical ailments. Occasionally, my lower back acts up, and that happened recently. Generally, I cannot point to any specific cause. It's probably rooted in a mechanical/posture issue that's been with me for a long time. The symptom is a fairly sharp pain in my lower left back when I bend or lean over in certain positions. Curiously, it flared up after my last stretch appointment on Saturday.

I have my stretch appointment today, and I'm going to have him focus entirely on this issue. He's helped me recover more quickly from this malady before, so we'll give it a go again.

In the meantime, my already low physical activity level is even lower. Other than some walking, I'm not doing anything else until I am back in action. We don't comprehend how crucial the back is to movement until something is out of alignment, and then we feel every wrong move.

Beyond the physical, I noticed my mood hasn't been the best either. I should practice more awareness and sit with my feelings rather than responding negatively. After all, life is good- bumps in the road and all.
