Past present future self

Be forgiving with your past self. What’s done is done. No sense in beating yourself up about it.
Be strict with your present self. Win the moment in front of you right now.
Be flexible with your future self. There are many paths to success. You don’t need life to be a certain way to live well."
James Clear

Well said, as always by Mr Clear.

I’d add on:

Be humble and learn from your past self. All the lessons and experiences, the battle scars and gunshot wounds, are there to help you grow. You will keep circling back to the same trials and tribulations, unless you learn well from your past self. Follow your own advice. Your past self is your best teacher.

Be present to your present self. Truth is, most of the time, we live in the past (depressed) or live in the future (anxious). Few are truly present, truly mindful, of what’s before us, in each moment. Our present self gives us the best data on how to act, right now. If we listen well.

Be optimistic about your future self. Have faith, bear hope, be optimistic, that after all the things your past self taught you, you can make it. That after taking good care and heeding what the present self is whispering to you in every moment, you will get through. With the hope that we will grow and evovle and get better, stronger, faster, there’s something to live for.

Past present future. All one.
