One month without Twitter Blue

It’s been almost 1 month since I cancelled my Premium subscription on Twitter (aka Twitter Blue).

I planned to do a review after 1 month to see if there’s any difference in reach and engagement, if it will drop as I initially feared.

Here’s the numbers:

Tl;dr – No difference in reach.

In fact, I seem to be doing slightly better in reach and engagement!

How crazy is that?!

Right off the bat on 1 Dec, on Day 1 of no more blue check, I went viral with this meme tweet, with 224k impressions.

That’s promising.

Then about 2 weeks of normal reach, then another viral tweet about programming on 21 Dec with 301k impressions.

This usually never happens! A viral tweet every few months, yeah maybe. But 2-3 within 1 month, and on a supposedly quiet month when more people are off Twitter due to Christmas…? Never.

So there you have it.

So far, it was a darn right decision to cancel Twitter Blue.

Vindicated.

As far as I’m concerned, the algorithm is toast. I don’t even see my Be Wellthy posts on my personal account unless I deliberately search for them.

Yeah there’s something going on with your Twitter account - I can’t find it by searching for your handle. I had to type the handle into the URL bar to get to it
