Mr. Last Minute

I've had a few instances recently where friends of mine demonstrated or openly admitted to what I refer to as Mr. Last Minute behavior. In both cases, my friends use language that sounds helpless.

"My days are unpredictable."

"I don't commit to something far out because I am flakey."

"I don't have control of my schedule."

See a pattern?

Kevin Trudeau teaches a principle he calls the 10-second miracle. He says that success is a decision away. What decision? You decide that you are in control of your life and everything that happens to you. You accept that you are the creator of your reality. Now that's a tough pill to swallow.

It's very easy to play the victim. This happened, or that happened, and it wasn't my fault, or it was out of my control, or any number of excuses. The key is to eliminate excusitis. You can start with a half-measure. Let's say you don't have enough belief that you are in control of your reality. Hopefully, you can reach the stage where you understand that you control your reaction to what happens. Remember the saying, "life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."
