Lifelog as calendar

I often joke that I need a calendar to remind me to look at my calendar. But I might finally have a calendar I’ll use – built around my daily Lifelog post. Lifelog is the trigger. But now when I’m writing, I start in my file-based dashboard, and the dashboard has an option to set a “resurfacing date” on ideas in the buffer. That means I can snooze an idea for tomorrow, a week later, or even years in advance. When the day arrives, the prompt shows up in my “Resurfacing queue” and I can start writing a post based on that idea.
Since everything is file-based, I have options for creating buffered prompts. The simplest is asking Claude Cowork to generate files with resurfacing dates.
- “Set up a week’s worth of prompt questions I can answer based on my active goals.”
- “Set up a monthly review at the end of the month, recurring.”
- “Drop a note in for 2030 that shares my vision of where I’ll be.”
I still have to write every day. I’ve set the system up to discourage writing in advance. The notes are meant to prompt writing or act as a template, not replace the daily writing. Lifelog is now the basis of my daily schedule.
