Launched my very first browser extension - Carrd Auto-Save

Just launched my very first browser extension on the Chrome Web Store, the Carrd Auto-Save!

The Carrd Builder has no auto-save, so users (especially new users) are often losing their work. It’s frustrating when hours of edits are gone! So it’s not a Carrd plugin this time. It’s a browser extension that automatically save your Carrd projects at customizable intervals.

This project felt like it took forever from conception to birth, because I procrastinated for months! Had this idea since early this year, but held back, hesitated because of assumptions. I assumed signing up for a dev account for the Chrome Web Store would cost a lot, like $100, but in the end it was just $5! I thought it’ll take super long to approve and be a real pain, but it just took a day! It took thrice as much effort than the usual plugins, but nothing too difficult with Cursor helping. What helped lower the perceived barrier was being able to just build it and use it locally, without needing any dev account - this was all thanks to building my own local-only color picker extension and learning from that. Once that’s all done, then submitting a listing felt easier. In the end, all went smoothly and well worth it. In the end, it was just my presumptions holding me back.

After sitting on this for so long, after such a long shipping drought, it certainly felt very good getting this out into the world.
