"Just let AI write it."

Now that I've been promoting the AI Surfer OS, multiple people have commented with some variation of the following: "If this tool and your agents are so great, why don't you have them write your newsletter?" Of course, I have an easy response.

It's not that I don't use AI at all. My agents help with research, ideas, flow, graphics, and social media. They also save me a lot of time. For example, tomorrow's newsletter took about two hours. My newsletters used to take upwards of eight hours to write. I firmly believe in letting AI handle the tasks that are time-consuming or that I don't want to do. My daily writing streak is 2,819 days, and in October, I will be celebrating six years of writing a weekly newsletter without a miss. Obviously, I enjoy writing.

Now, for people who don't enjoy writing, sure, let some guy named AI do it for you. I don't know about you, but I'm already experiencing AI-slop fatigue syndrome. Remember when we said, "I'll have my person call your person?" We are getting to the point of, "I'll have my AI talk with your AI." I think there is already a rebound effect where people want more authenticity and something from a real person.

So for the foreseeable future, I will still be head of creative and handling the writing myself.
