Friday dinner

One reason why we did the city change was the promise of having more amenities right outside our door. We aimed to live within walking distance of excellent cafés, restaurants, and the lively energy of a bustling high street. A year later, it’s been one of our best choices. Our local shopping area showcases a variety of cultures from around the world. Just a few blocks away, we can enjoy Indian spicy curries, Italian pasta and pizza, aromatic Thai dishes, Greek classics, Vietnamese specialties, and many others. The main challenge is often deciding where to go.

By the end of the week, we were too tired to cook, so we went to a nearby Vietnamese restaurant. It’s just a short walk from our place, which is one of the best parts of city life. The place was lively, filled with chatter and the smell of fresh herbs, chili, and sizzling dishes. While we ate, I thought about how much I enjoy this lifestyle. Being able to leave the car behind, walk a few minutes, and enjoy authentic cuisine from another part of the world is truly special. Every Friday night feels like a mini holiday, reminding us why we chose to live here.
