Discipline & self

People think discipline is punishment. It’s actually self-compassion extended through time. You’re taking care of a future version of yourself you’ve never met. – @justinskycak
Love that.
Discipline is self-love. Because you’re loving yourself in the present, doing what’s right, what’s needed, what’s important, for yourself, by yourself.
Discipline is self-growth. Because you made a promise to your future self, that you will achieve something important to both of you, and you will fulfil your promise.
Discipline is self-acceptance. Because you witnessed the stupid mistakes that your past self did, and you accept them, forgave, so that the burden does not weigh you down.
Discipline is actualising past, present, future self, all in one.
