Chat with Young People

I have just found out that I love to chat with young people, especially my niece and nephew. I enjoy understanding how they see the world and learning about the things that are important to the younger generation nowadays.
A good example is that I learn more about the current education system, which will help my kids in the future. It’s too bad that it’s hard to find teenagers who like to discuss their current thoughts, and I especially don’t meet my niece and nephew often.
I do remind myself not to impose my own experiences on them too much, as it might stress them or hinder the conversation. Nonetheless, I still can’t help but suggest certain things when I see them facing the same challenges I encountered in my younger years.
I look forward to chatting about similar topics with my kids, and I hope they will still want to talk to me by that time.

I do feel am I old so that start to have a strange habit like this
I struggle with chatting to young people, or even adults who I don’t see a common interest with. Small talk doesn’t come to me that easily, but I’d like to get better at it. Young people are definitely a portal into the upcoming generation.
