Bulk trash pick-up

Once a month, my neighborhood is fortunate to have a bulk trash pick-up. Whatever is too big to fit into the bin or any large accumulation of trash goes out in the alley. There are prohibited items, of course. No toxic materials, no large appliances, and no mattresses, of all things. It's a great way to have stuff hauled away that would otherwise cost for junk removal.

I'm taking the opportunity to continue spring cleaning and get rid of more items. That's music to my partner's ears because we are on opposite sides of the organization spectrum. She leans more toward Marie Kondo, and I'm more cluttered (but not hoarder-level disgusting). I do understand the value of having a clean and organized home, both from a functionality perspective and energetically.

The biggest decision is whether something should be donated or thrown out. I have made plenty of donations to Goodwill and other organizations, but I would not donate items that are no longer useful. Today we are expecting to hit a high of 105 degrees F (about 40 degrees C), so my decluttering will be restricted to indoor activity. When the sun has set, I'll be moving everything to the curb.
