Beyond the passwords

Over the course of my lifetime, I have accumulated a substantial amount of data. If I were to pass away tomorrow, I would leave behind a significant digital legacy that could impact those around me in various ways. While I have taken steps to protect our family’s data and privacy during my lifetime, I have not yet addressed my wife’s concerns about managing everything in the event of my absence.
Currently, I manage all our family finances, which is her main concern, how she would handle things if I were gone. Although finances are her biggest worry, I know she would also need access to many other details. Today, when I tried to explain how I handle our bills, we both immediately saw how complicated it is. We agreed that we need to document everything clearly.
I now realise I must develop a comprehensive and well-organised record of everything she needs to know. This includes details on what to manage, where to locate various resources, and how to access our digital assets efficiently. While compiling such thorough documentation will be challenging, I understand that it is absolutely crucial for smooth operations. Therefore, I recognise the importance of getting started on this without delay and committing to maintaining it diligently.
