A shift in my courses

Yesterday I realized I was wrestling with a lot resistance working on my courses. My issue was that my ideas weren’t clearly laid out and I felt compelled to record videos that flow logically. If I notice I missed an idea after recording, it’s hard to fix. I personally don’t like reading off a script, so I was reluctant to write out a full script, even though that’s what I feel like I need. AT LEAST to clarify my ideas for me so I know everything I want to say and in what sequence.

I’m currently taking a course called One Big Win. It’s about how we can accomplish major projects by allocating blocks of time towards them. There are lots of valuable nuggets of wisdom throughout the entire course. The course is extremely valuable… and entirely text-based! There are no videos!

I was posting a 2-week check-in in the course forum when I realized that I can create a similar experience! Creating a text-base course would be SOOOO MUCH easier than a video-based one! I can plug-in videos afterwards, but going for a written course will help me clarify my ideas, put my course out, and work on all the other components that go towards creating a course (landing page, marketing material, etc).

I’m really excited about this shift in approach and I look forward to making considerable progress on the courses in the next couple of weeks, without being held back by resistance and intimidation!

Everyone loves to consume video, but I believe video is the most challenging medium for creation. That was definitely an obstacle for me when I was considering a course. Would you also narrate the course or would it be strictly text for reading?

@therealbrandonwilson I prefer video myself and I want to make that available, but I can definitely share a text-based version of the course before the videos are ready.
