A drive through the Strathbogie Ranges

It was great to be back on the road with the Zoom Zoom Club today, enjoying the simple pleasure of driving through some of Victoria’s best countryside. The run covered around 400 kilometres, winding from Yea through the Strathbogie Ranges, up to Euroa and then back again. It was one of those days that reminds me why I enjoy being part of the club, even now that I no longer own a dedicated track car. The roads through the Strathbogies are made for enthusiastic driving. Long sweeping bends, quiet country roads and stunning views across rolling hills provided the perfect backdrop. The spring sunshine added to the experience, with green paddocks, grazing cattle and patches of bushland flashing by the windscreen. Every rise in the road seemed to reveal another postcard-worthy view.

What I enjoy most about these club drives is that they are about much more than the cars. They offer a chance to catch up with fellow members and share the camaraderie that comes from a shared passion. Everyone participates for the same reason: the love of the journey. When we returned to Yea, I was pleasantly tired yet deeply satisfied. Four hundred kilometres of excellent roads, good company, and stunning scenery made for an unforgettable day in the Victorian high country.
