A day of body work

I worked a half day today and spent the rest of the day on body work.

First, I was back at the gym for another session. My trainer and I are still exploring, trying different exercises. He picked one today that was absolutely brutal. I stood up on a platform with a belt on and a chain hooked to the machine. Using just the bar with no additional weight, I performed squats. My legs turned to jelly very quickly. I told my trainer I much preferred the leg press, and he noted it. He agreed that we should focus only on exercises I like doing (or at least tolerate). I tried a different machine for a chest press, a seated upper pull-down, and a standing triceps exercise on a cable machine. I was done in just over 30 minutes, which was fine by me.

Next, I went to my weekly stretch appointment. It was perfect timing. Kevin, my stretch therapist, said he had already noticed improvements in how I was lying on the table. Not bad for only 1.5 weeks of working out.

Finally, I just finished a 1.5-hour massage I scheduled every three weeks. It was extremely relaxing, and now I can sit back satisfied that I had a full day of body work.
